This summer, the seven-piece reggae-latin band State of Satta dropped their debut album, Simmer Down. Hailing from Leeds, this vibrant collective blends reggae’s rich traditions with a fresh Latin flair. Their music is a melting pot of Spanish sunshine, powerful bass lines, and messages of self-acceptance, love, and unity.
Inspired by artists like Havana Meets Kingston and Gentleman’s Dub Club, State of Satta offers a dynamic new take on UK reggae. Their language-fluid vocals and hip-swaying percussion reflect influences from European reggae greats Manu Chao and Mo’Kalamity.
