PATEXX WITH THE SWEET MELODY RIDDIM, A 5-TRACK EP
Rohan ‘Patexx’ Rankine, a Jamaican-born singer, songwriter, and producer based in Atlanta, has released a 5-track Reggae project called “The Sweet Melody Riddim.” He collaborated with four talented Trinidad and Tobago artists to create this diverse reggae project, including Adana Roberts, Black Loyalty, Isasha, Yung Bredda, and himself.
Patexx set the tone of positivity for the project by writing three of the songs, “God Bless Youth,” “Rescue Me,” and “Good Draw.” The slower BPM of the tracks ensures that listeners can take their time to enjoy each song’s message and melody.
Patexx’s visit to Trinidad and Tobago during the 2023 Carnival festivities inspired the creation of “The Sweet Melody Riddim.” He was captivated by the Trinbagonian accent’s melodies and cheerfulness, which he could encapsulate in his music. The project has received airplay throughout the Caribbean and Ghana, bringing delight to Rankine and all the featured artists.

Patexx has worked with renowned artists, including Bounty Killa, Shaggy, Sting, Dovey Magnum, Safaree, and Patrice Roberts. He has received several awards, including a Gold Plaque in Europe for “Mood For Loving” with DJ Freddy Moriera and Capital Candy, a Grammy for contributing to Sting and Shaggy’s album “44/876,” and a Splice Plaque for 500,000 downloads. In 2022, he won the Gospel Song of the Year award as the songwriter and producer of “Jesus Rock” with Chozenn.
ABOUT PATEXX
Patexx is a rising star in Dancehall music from Jamaica. He joined Alliance Next Generation and is known for his party anthems. He is also a talented songwriter and collaborated with artists like Ding Dong and Wayne Marshall. His signature slogan is “Any day now.”
