BOB MARLEY & THE WAILERS COLLABORATE WITH TIWA SAVAGE TO REMAKE “WAITING IN VAIN”.

Bob Marley & The Wailers have teamed up with Nigerian superstar Tiwa Savage to recreate the legendary hit “Waiting In Vain” from Bob Marley’s groundbreaking 1977 album Exodus. This classic album was named “Album of the Century” by Time Magazine in 1999. This latest collaboration follows the success of “Stir It Up,” reimagined by Sarkodie and released earlier this year.

Bob Marley is undoubtedly one of the most influential figures in modern music. His socially conscious lyrics and lovers-rock, ska, and rocksteady elements have inspired generations. As a pioneer of Reggae, Bob Marley was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame posthumously in 1994. His music continues to inspire with its message of love, justice, and unity.

Tiwa Savage, known as the “Queen of Afrobeats,” is powerful in Africa’s music industry. She has topped the charts in Nigeria and beyond, receiving numerous accolades, including Best African Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2018. Tiwa Savage represented the Commonwealth by performing at King Charles III’s Coronation on May 6.

In “Waiting In Vain,” Bob Marley and Tiwa Savage express their longing for their love interests, waiting anxiously for their return throughout the seasons. Their dialogue reveals their reluctance to wait any longer, but the yearning in their voices suggests they will wait forever for their lovers.

Tiwa Savage is thrilled to be part of this project, saying, “Bob Marley is an iconic artist revered in my home country of Nigeria and throughout Africa. His music and message remain as relevant today as when they were first released all those years ago. I deeply love this record and am honoured to be part of such a great project.”
