INEZI’S “JUNGLE” A CALL FOR UNDERSTANDING AND COMPASSION

‘Jungle’ is the lead single from the upcoming riddim compilation album ‘inna dis yah’ produced by global beat studios.  Inezi explores matters of low socio-economic issues that affect the lives and livelihood of the common man. When asked what inspired him to write the song Inezi said, “this song is actually some people’s reality, some people’s life, constantly feeling like it’s a jungle”

Inezi highlights issues that are often misunderstood or misinterpreted; adding his voice to these causes because “no matter what some people do they just can’t figure nothing out. They spend their lives constantly running like it’s their only purpose, constantly fighting a battle non-stop and that’s like normal. When you live like that it becomes normalized” he said. “It’s like this place but not this place. That is the whole concept of Jungle, it actually speaks for itself, and this is what I would like those who are able to navigate their own lives successfully to understand.”

“Jungle” is the first track from Global Beat Studios’ upcoming Inna Dis Yah compilation album. According to the label’s manager, “this rhythm inspired the first two artists who heard and vibe it to come up with “Inna Dis Yah“ theme, so it became the official name. “Jungle” is the first of seven (7) tracks of the rhythm which is due for release by end of January 2023. Of this upcoming project, Global Beat Studios’ sneak peek on what to expect is, “interesting recordings of social commentary musically stated from a generic and completely natural place” and intriguingly, by an interesting assembling of an influential and inspiring line-up of internationally known and emerging reggae entertainers.”

THIS SONG IS ACTUALLY SOME PEOPLE’S REALITY, SOME PEOPLE’S LIFE, CONSTANTLY FEELING LIKE IT’S A JUNGLE

Inezi lives and breathes music. Influenced at an early age by his father who was also a singer and growing up every day listening to local Spanish Town sound system Cooper Tone, Inezi quickly developed his voice and passion for music.

While attending Dinthill Technical High School, he formed the group H5 which went on to place in the top 5 of one of Jamaica’s major talent competitions, Digicel Rising Stars in 2004. Following the group’s name change to Konscious, they entered the 2017 Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall competition garnering the attention of Olympic Champion, Asafa Powell who signed them to a management deal. Konscious recorded and released a moderately successful single, Trod It before they broke up a few years later.

Inezi remained committed to his craft as a solo artist regardless and continued to perform at live events across Jamaica including an outdoor showcase at Big Yard studios in Kingston, hosted BBC 1Xtra Seani B. His socially conscious music leaves a lasting impression. Before the release of his EP Pain and Pleasure, Inezi became known for impactful singles, Straight Away (New Vision One Records), Roots and Culture and No Love (Teflon Zincfence). Throughout 2020 and 2021 he connected with Addis Records out of Austria and created more hard-hitting tracks such as, Rise, Sorry Fah and African Proverbs which caught the attention of BBC 1xtra David Rodigan. That same track, also made a big impression on social media influencer and Dancehall DJ Foota Hype’s thousands of followers when it was introduced during one of his live feeds. All three (3) tracks produced by Addis Records brought more attention to Inezi’s talent.

Around late 2021 to early 2022 upon hearing African Proverbs, Global Beats Studio C.E.O., Huey Gowdie signed a management deal with the Spanish Town artist. The label wasted no time recording him and officially released its first project on April 22, 2022. The six (6) track EP, Pain and Pleasure takes a step away from Inezi’s socially conscious side to a more personal, softer side. Through the music Inezi channel his truth, disappointments, pain, and raw emotions. Tracks such as Scatter Me, Refuse to Be You, Blame Me, On It, Fine Wine and Higher were made to officially introduce another side of Inezi that has never been heard before and, prepares reggae music lovers for journeying with him on the path to success.
