QUEEN OMEGA: ‘WISE QUEENS’ FEAT. JALIFA AND KUSHITE
After the release of the powerful track Fittest which marked the great comeback of Queen Omega, she presents today her new song: Wise Queens. This track is a beautiful, brilliant and strong collaboration with two more artists from Trinidad and Tobago: Jalifa and Kushite.
This song about women, expresses the feeling of stability, focus, and strength all delivered in a fierce and proud tone, on a roots production from LionsFlow Productions. The three singers have very different voicing styles and the song transmits this multitude of feminine energies. They connected thanks to the Trinidadian producer Jah Trebel, an idea to bring together the three artists’ female ambassadors of reggae music from the island but not only.
In the video, they are surrounded by other women of all generations. Many portraits of shopkeepers, DJs, seamstresses, haberdashers, workers and bakers are also valued there to show the multitude of women. An ode to sorority for a colorful video clip of traditional outfits directed by Hood.
The three singers have all made their mark in the music industry, and through Wise Queens, they remind us that in the solidarity of ‘conscious dancehall’, a woman’s voice will always create the balance it lacks.
