RSNY’s new EP “Hot Gyal Szn” brings it back to their Dancehall and African roots! The self-composed / co-produced beats and vocals capture the pure essence of Dancehall and Afro-beats to make for a fantastic combination.
Emerging from the gritty streets of Far Rockaway NY, by way of small island of Jamaica, RSNY was born when four friends (Yung Juggz, Drugzzzy B, HBK & Remix) combined their individual talents into one musical mega-force.
Lead singer Yung Juggz delivers hi-grade vocals whether serenading the ladies on some sweet Reggae Rub-a-Dub or on high-energy Dancehall riddims. Always delivering high quality on studio and stage.
Deejay & DJ Drugzzzy B comes with the rugged style of Jamaican rhyming and takes it to another level. Living up to RSNY’s genre versatility, he is unique raspy low voice chops through the beat whether Hip-Hop, Afrobeats, Reggaeton, or Reggae. You can also find Drugzzzy behind the turntables as the group’s official DJ on stage as well as on club nights in NYC.
HBK the crooner of the group smoothly sings for the ladies and also delivers the fire when its time for the hardcore. Coming with the Jamaican sing-jay style, at times singing and at times deejaying/rapping, HBK’s finesse always shines through.
Remix A.K.A. Don Poppa brings an extra touch of class to the group. With his rugged and deep vocal style chopping through the riddim/beat of any genre. Remix’s vocal style is a perfect musical blend of New York and Jamaica. Always contributing lively energy on stage as well as in the studio.
With hunger and drive for success, coupled with the determination to not fall victim to a community plagued with violence; where many of their peers seemed to meet a pre-determined faith of a cell or a cemetery, RSNY had a diversion; they set their sights on making their dreams a reality.
Prior to the formation of the group in 2007, each member was on a different journey; with the common denominator being music – the link that would ultimately bind them together. Performing all across the East Coast, from NYC to MIA, before heading over for a quick stop in Jamaica, where they are deeply rooted and have gained an international fanbase; they are branding themselves as a “New Era” of New York music. As their slogan goes, “From the Rock to the Top”… they may have started from the gritty streets of the small town of Far Rockaway, but they are headed straight to the top to parlay amongst the best!
