THE VAMPIRE BITES BACK: MONTY NEYSMITH & THE UPSESSIONS DROP BOSS REGGAE 7” VINYL
Monty Neysmith, frontman for pioneering British ska and reggae band Symarip, brings his signature vintage style back into the spotlight. Teaming up once more with Dutch group The Upsessions on The Vampire Bites Back, they deliver a raw, Halloween-themed single on Aggrobeat Records.
Expanding on their Sheriff Double Gun LP, The Vampire Bites Back captures the collective at their peak. Fresh off a seven-week European tour, The Upsessions pulled two standout cuts from those studio sessions. They serve up a dedicated 7″ vinyl with a Dead Coyote dub on the B-side.
Producer Boss Capone anchors the title A-side with a nostalgic boss reggae groove. Neysmith delivers commanding vocals over clean, analogue rhythms that recall the golden era of Jackpot and New Beat Records.
WAX-READY REVIVAL POWERED BY LEGENDARY AND TIMELESS STYLE
The flipside’s Dead Coyote refines the album track Fat Coyote to a raw, organ-driven version. Neysmith takes the keyboard reins, delivering the same phenomenal mastery as his iconic recordings with Trojan Records legends Symarip.
Complementing the vintage analogue sound, the 7″ vinyl features striking artwork by Malwina Siedlecka (Old School Design). The fold-out picture sleeve draws direct artistic inspiration from the raw, iconic cover art of Slaughter And The Dogs’ 1978 punk album, Do It Dog Style, merging retro horror comic and late-70s punk aesthetics.
The Vampire Bites Back is out now on digital platforms, with the 7″ single following on 16 October 2026. It stands as an essential, wax-ready showcase of Monty Neysmith and The Upsessions’ legendary and timeless style.
