HIS MAJESTY IS COMING: JOSEPH BENAIAH DROPS ROOTS ANTHEM AHEAD OF 9th ALBUM
Joseph Benaiah has chosen his moment well. The veteran Jamaican artist steps forward with His Majesty Is Coming, a fervent roots reggae single that sets the tone for his forthcoming ninth studio album.
With deep Kingston roots and a spell as a member of The Mighty Diamonds, Joseph Benaiah has spent decades shaping the sound of contemporary roots music.
Recorded at Jamaica’s iconic Tuff Gong International Studios, His Majesty Is Coming is a powerful roots anthem. It vibrates with spiritual fire and the kind of unshakeable conviction that defines the genre at its most potent.
Benaiah calls it “a declaration about hope, spiritual royalty, and the power of faith in these times.” The song delivers exactly that.
CONSCIOUS STORYTELLING WITH A COMMANDING LYRICAL PRESENCE
The production carries lionheart energy. Legendary saxophonist Dean Fraser lends his unmistakable horn work, then steps up to deliver backing vocals alongside Dwayne Stephenson, a pairing that adds real depth and heritage to the track.
Benaiah fuses conscious storytelling with commanding lyrical presence, urging listeners to stand firm and walk with dignity. The message is direct, with a rhythm that hits hard. Faith runs deep.
After more than three decades in the game, Joseph Benaiah sounds sharper and more purposeful than ever. If this single is anything to go by, his forthcoming album could be the defining work of his career.
