ABOUT JAH DECKO
Jah Decko (born Darl Douglas) swapped a 14-year professional football career for reggae’s studio and stage. The Suriname-born, Netherlands-based artist founded Dreddayouthz in 2003, pioneering Surinamese lyrics over roots reggae riddims.
He then established himself as a producer, crafting albums for Joggo, Ziggi Recado, and Miriam Simone. His 2020 EP Rastafar-I Way introduced collaborator Ras Mendel. Today, Decko channels BoBo Ashanti spirituality into contemporary reggae that honours tradition while speaking to modern listeners.
