UK ARTIST EDDY BANTON DELIVERS GLOBE-SPANNING REGGAE ODYSSEY
Eddy Banton has dropped his eagerly anticipated self-titled album. It’s commanding 21 tracks make a statement that maps his complete musical identity.
The release fuses roots reggae, dancehall, drum and bass, and jungle. It mirrors Banton’s dual heritage: Caribbean roots meeting European upbringing. The album shifts effortlessly between conscious messaging, sound system thunder, and soaring melodic moments.
Based in England’s South West, Banton has shared stages with David Rodigan, Johnny Osbourne, and Prince Fatty. He’s deeply embedded in the regional reggae circuit and forms one-third of cross-genre project Alikindoi Squad.

The album’s list of collaborators reads like a global reggae summit. Miko Weaver, Prince’s former guitarist, brings rock-infused fire to a Spanish hip hop–reggae fusion cut. Spanish rapper Mahatma Gin appears throughout, while drill artist Furta and dancehall performer Salus add street grit.
Avocado Boy from State of Satta contributes dub production and backing vocals on Music Is My Ammunition. The Objectors deliver heavyweight vibrations on 100 Degrees and Rize Up. Meanwhile, artists from Spain, Uruguay, and Venezuela, including Alabarsis General, Mufaza Style, and General Mag Mell, expand the album’s international scope.
A forthcoming single with dancehall legend Jigsy King promises to extend this ambitious project’s reach even further. Unity through music stands as the album’s core message and its blueprint.
